Red face booting linux with diff H/W

I've installed RH 7.2 on my PIII /128/40 GB and now want to just plug this HDD to my other m/c celeron with 64mb RAM (ie totally different h/w) and work on linux w/o reinstalling it.

i get kernel panic error.

I want to know from guru's the steps to be followed to boot
linux with this h/w. w/o reinstalling linux entirely.

any link for further reading appreciated.
