Booting Linux

Ok I am on a dual boot system with 98 and I had Mandrake 8.1
installed but at the boot sequence, it freezes at:
isapnp: Scanning for PnP cards
Though it was a problem with install so formatted and installed Redhat 7.2. Still the same problem....
The only device in my system that is ISA is my soundcard.

Is there a way to continue booting and fix the ISA problem afterwards?

Have you tried taking the card out and booting? If this works, then you may have a serious conflict, which I think may be fixed by booting to RL1, editing some files (init scripts or isapnp.gone/conf stuff) and seeing what happens. Before we get into that, though, try removing the card.
