Question Booting into GNOME

When installing RH9, I set it up to boot right into GNOME. Well, later I wanted it to boot into the command prompt. So, I edited /etc/inittab and set the default from X to multiuser.

Now it boots into command prompt OK, and when I want to go into GNOME I do the usual startx. But this only works as root. When I try to do it with any other account, it gives me a lengthly error message.

How do I change it so that all my users, and not just root, can get into GNOME from the bash shell?

Thanks in advance.

Try fixing the problem indicated by the lengthy error message.

If you still have problems then post the error but there ain't much we can do until we know what is happening.
