booting from CD with Lindows
Hello
I have a Lindow 4.5 CD which I am trying to install on a machine, but it will not boot from the CD for some reason. The CD can be can be read using XP on the same pc, this same pc can also boot from redhat and xp cds, but Lindows is not booting at all. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated poncenby_smythe |
Is the disc burned properly? What do you see on it if you look at it in Windoze?

what I see is...
when I boot on another pc then Lindows install/diagnostics appears.
when i browse the cd on xp it seems to have a complete file structure. I had no problems when burning the image. An advance on this topic is: I created a boot floppy from the boot.img on the cd using this wicked app I found. I boot from the floppy fine, select install and it seems to be fine (the CD is being accessed) but the progress bar stops half way and feezes the pc. is this an image problem? I haven't tried installing it on another pc. thanks in advance poncenby_smythe |
Try "diagnostics". Then if prompted to type startx it will go thru the installation .
