Bootable USB not showing up in boot menu

I have used uNetbootin to create many bootable USB drives in the past, but now none will show up in boot menu. All the files are in the USB drive. Usually I can't access a bootable USB in Explorer, but when I use uNetbootin, I can. I have an HP 2000 Notebook PC with the HP BIOS. It worked before, but not now. Can anyone help please? I'm trying to boot Linux Mint 15 and Ubuntu 13.10 to test them.

Have you tried going into the section to change the hard drive boot order? I know on my machines USB sticks show up there and not under removable media where I expect to see them.

In some cases you have to do a full cold boot to bios first while the usb has been attached. It then seems to let you view the hard drive choices and one should show up as the usb.
