Boot up failure! RH8.0


I have to boot up my linux from my disk every time from

"linux apm=Idle_threshold=100"

If it boots up normally it won't load and get stucks on something like

EXT3 write acces will be enabled during recorvery.

before i applied the string i got an error of INIT version 2.84 booting.

And your question is how to keep from having to do that?

Add it to your /etc/grub.conf file. Be sure to make a backup first.

Does /etc mean its under that directory? Will try when I get home

Yes, and you will need to edit the file as root (open a term, enter "su", then your password, then "mc").

The "mc" will help you get around (Midnight Commander).
