Boot to USB

Hi, and thanks in advance.
This is my first post although iv been "lurking" on this site for a while now. So thanks for all the help.

The problem I have is iv got a fairly old computer that wont allow me to boot from USB drives. I was thinking, is it possible to make a boot CD/floppy that can be directed to a mounted USB drive and boot it that way.
Has anyone seen a program that can do this already.
If not how would I go about making such a thing (thinking of a lilo type scenario). Sorry if this has been asked before.

Welcome to LQ Bro

You need Plop bootmanager

Simply place the executable
on the pc's hd and point grub to it with a menu entry

title Plop Bootmanager
root (hdx,x)
kernel /plpbt.bin
you can get it here

I also have include it in my distro downloads

and PupPak-v1.0

plop can run from usb, cd, or hd and doesnt install anything
