boot sector-virus on windows machine linux LIVEcd
how can i find and destroy a boot sector virus while running linux off a livecd USB device virus unmounts my primary drive and dosn't allow cd boot am trying to maybe run antivirus remotely from another computer via ssh anyother idea's welcomed.

You can try replacing the bootloader. Without knowing what OS you're trying to repair I can't give you instructions on how to do that.

Technically impossible. if your system boots from CD the boot sector of the disk is never touched and the virus never executed.

Easier to make a BartsPE, VistaPE or UBCD4win or just use windows disk to fix it.

In such situations (CD boot ineffective), I just remove the drive and stick it in an external casing and zero out the MBR boot code from another machine.
Plug it back in, and boot a recovery CD.
