Boot problem(pls help me)

Im new to whole linux thing.
Ok i'll get to the point.
Ive have a problem in the boot of suse linux.
Well is see when its loading it says, chechking harware or somthin like that. Then when its suposed to go to the login, my screen goes like black. My screen fall in stand by. The only way that i could start linux whas in safe mode. It an older monitor. Migt that be it after it's done loading and get's that ?

sorry for my bad english. I'm from belgium. Im still studing english...

Do you just get a login screen?

when I start in save mode i get one. (in dos) But other way, i dont get one

ok lol I founded it.
I forgot to instal a part of my linux. Sorry for such troble
