Boot Problem After Installation New Laptop
First of all i am newbie to all this. I've just buy a new laptop Acer Aspire E5-575-584A with only one ssd and its comes with an Acer Linux distribution. I've install Lubuntu 16.04 Lts fine but when i installed Ubuntu Gnome 16.04.02LTS something happen, finally i installed Ubuntu 14.04 Lts and the error is still the same. I am new to this and i confused about the UEFI-Legacy installation. I've try a lot of things but nothing works. My laptop cannot boot from ssd, only from a Liveusb/cd. But when i try for a new installation it seems that the ssd has the Ubuntu 14.04. I've got this message when i open it and i cannot find an answer on the web : - Failed to open \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\max64.efi - Not Found
- Failed to load image \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\max64.efi - Not Found
- Failed to star MokManager : Not Found
- Failed to open \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\grub64x.efi - Not Found
- Failed to load image \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\grubx64.efi : Not Found
- start_image() returned Not Found
AND afters one-two seconds the message becomes: - Failed to open \EFI\Boot\max64.efi - Not Found
- Failed to load image \EFI\Boot\max64.efi - Not Found
- Failed to star MokManager : Not Found
- Failed to open \EFI\Boot\grub64x.efi - Not Found
- Failed to load image \EFI\Boot\grubx64.efi : Not Found
- start_image() returned Not Found

Hi BettyLu - Welcome to LinuxQuestions.
Firstly, your English is fine.
Secondly, the link to your BootRepair summary is not valid - please verify and repost. From the error messages you are getting, there seems to be something wrong with your EFI System Partition or perhaps the boot settings in your firmware are incorrect for booting the preinstalled software on your Acer.
The summary might help us begin troubleshooting with you. Also, could you please clarify the steps you have already taken ? I am not completely clear on some things. More specifically:
- What version of linux came preinstalled on the Acer laptop ?
- Even though you say that a version of linux came preinstalled on your Acer, you seem to have tried to install Ubuntu ... even several versions ... Can you explain what you were trying to accomplish and the specific steps you took ?
Thanks.

what i don't understand is why Lubuntu apparently installed fine, but not the subsequent distros.

You indicate that the laptop came with some unidentified version of Linux on it but don't indicate which Linux. That would be useful. The messages indicate that windows efi files can't be found so there must have been a windows install on it at some point.
If you install one system UEFI then installing other systems should also be UEFI or you will have problems booting. The link below explains using UEFI with Ubuntu and posting the correct link to the boot repair output would be helpful.
