boot linux from mp3player possible?
 
is it possible to boot linux from mp3player? im interested in downloading knoppernix or dynebolic and boot it from mp3 player cos my only cdrom is spoilt. Pls advise.thanks!

Depends whether your computer can boot from a USB device or not. If so then yes, most USB players are recognised a mass-storage devices which fits the bill nicely. If your computer can't boot from USB, then there are other options such a downloading a boot floppy image which will then load USB drivers and boot from that. I've seen stuff like that before but sorry, I don't have any links handy.

Booting
 
It should be possible as there are several devices for sales with Linux on it (http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/usb.html).

Look in your BIOS setup and set SCSI as the first boot item (before the harddisk).

You also have to find a very small distro, like above or similar.
