Hello friends,

I hv fedora 12 dual booted with win7
I was trying to upgrade from 12 to 14 bt my /boot directory got full

hw can i expand it to hv more space

You can expand partitions, but since /boot is going to be the first one, that means you would have to shift all the other partitions up to make space. You could do it, but it will be a hassle.

The easier solution would be to simply not use a separate partition for /boot, and just move it into the root filesystem. Linux hasn't actually required /boot to be a on a separate partition since the 1990's, it is a hold-over from early BIOS/bootloader implementations that could only boot code stored in the very first cylinders of the disk.

Thanks for ur suggestion, could u plz tell me hw to do that as i was already upgrading my fedora and it was almost 50% done
plz suggest me wt and hw can i do it

any help would b appreciable as i want to work full time on linux
