boot disk failed - HELP
Hey there,
Could you please give me a hand here??? I very recently installed Red Hat 7.1 alongside my Win98. I tried partitionless install. I created a boot disk... But when trying to boot from the disk upon startup it said "Hit return in the next 10 secs blah blah blahdy" So i hit return... Then i got an erroro, "Unable To Boot From Disk" and then Win98 started. Can any1 help out? Taa, Matty A |
Which files are on your boot disk? There should be 5 I believe. boot.msg, initrd.img, ldlinux.sys, syslinux.cfg, vmlinuz

If this is disk is specifically for the partitionless install, then you might probably find loadlin and associated docs aswell. These should also be found somewhere on your Windows partition, so you can boot to Linux from a simple dos box. Look at the files on the disk, and look on your harddisk as well.
