Boot and USB Wireless NIC

Can someone please explain to me in simple detailed terms how I can make a boot disk that enables me to get a D-Link DWL-G122 USB NIC (using the ralink rt2570 driver) up and runing for the purpose of using a diskless laptop as a thin clent to LTSP.

I am new to linux. I uswe Fedora Core 4.

Please help.

If you're going to be using a diskless laptop, would you be better off trying a CD-based distro like Knoppix?

Yeah with a rig with that level of memory, X is going to crawl. I'd suggest either booting Knoppix in runlevel 2 by entering knoppix 2 at the boot prompt. That will enter console mode and I bet it would improve performance a lot.

You also might have a look at Slax or Linux From Scratch (LFS) and see if either one of those would let you build what you need. I know that the Slax site has the scripts used to build Slax and instructions on how to customize. LFS would let you build exactly what you need, but it might be complicated.
