They are stored in:
Code:
~/.mozilla/firefox/xxxxxxxx.default/bookmarks.html
Where xxxxxxxx is a random alphanumeric string .

Try this

If you open Firefox, then Bookmarks on the Navigation bar at the top, will see Organise Bookmarks. Open this and open Bookmarks Menu. A list of your bookmarks and their addresses should appear on the right. If not, look at the top to Views, Show Columns, Show Locations to ascertain that Location is checked. Import and Backup beside Views is also useful for exporting and importing bookmarks.

Is that good enough?

Hi madani. I received your visitor message. Please use this public thread for follow-ups instead. Regarding your question (about why your bookmarks aren't appearing in the file), I'm not sure. Could it be that you are overlooking them? A way to get a clearer look at the file is to open it using Firefox itself. For that, simply type the path to the file in the address bar. You will get a nicely formatted output of the bookmarks (since it's an HTML file).

Now bookmarks in Firefox are stored in the database places.sqlite. If you want them in a HTML file for exporting to other applications, or just for a human readable form, follow the suggestion given above: open Bookmarks --> Organize Bookmarks --> Import and Backup --> Export HTML.

Yes. In Explorer go to File --> Import and Export --> Import Favorites --> Import from a File or Address and give the path to the saved HTML file.
