OK I'm a NOOB,
Hello, My question is, I have a Suse Linux 8.2 Users guide. I am wondering if the info about configureing KDE and GNOME and other useful instructions like Mounting hardware and downloading and opening software like antivirus for linux is applicable to other disto's like Ubuntu, or Mepis,Puppy,or DSL,or Slax,Momomga,Debian,Xubhuntu,SAM,Oh hell you get the idea. I am not DOS-Command line literate,so everything I need to learn about running linux is in this book. It covers alot of ground.I am hoping that whatever distro I try to use, that this book will help no matter what distro I try. So can I use the info in this book for running basic command lines in other distro's and does KDE and GNOME the same in all disto's. Mainly trying the do it myself approach. I am running Ubuntu's Hardy Heron, sole O\S not dual boot, In a panasonic cf-48,1.6 ghz,512mb ram, 100 gig H\D.
