Book recommendations

Mandrake 9, really new....

I saw the Linux for Dummies and was wondering if it was any good. Read a few reviews on Amazon, they weren't great. But I am looking for something just to ease my way in. I would like to get a book to use as a reference.

Any advice or recommendations?

Thanks.

this one is a good start:
A Pratical Guide To Linux
By Mark G. Sobell

Then u can start reading "LINUX POWER TOOLS" or UNIX POWER TOOLS

Sneak in to school/work when everyone else has gone home and print Rute User's Tutorial and Exposition. Or at least download it. :)

Another good one:

Linux Newbie Administrators Guide

I have used this and RUTE (mentioned in above post) since I started running Linux and would not give either of them up.

Wouldn't hurt to look here as well

Mandrake Documentation

You could also try out the Reviews section here at LinuxQuestions.org

Jeremy just put in a book section. It's quite nice :)

Check them out here:

Any of the O'Reilly books are good. I have a few of them "Running Linux", "SendMail", "Samba", "Apache", etc. They seem to be very informative. I also have the Linux System Administration manual. Good stuff.
