Blue Screen with after fresh load of Linux XP

Hello,
I have loaded Linux XP 2006 and it says all done that all loaded good and then I get a blue screen with the curser in the top left hand corner. This is a new mother board and the first O/S to load load on this machine.I just can not get past this blue screen?
Help!!

Isn't that what XP is supposed to do?

What in the world is "Linux XP"? A never mind its a Russian distro that is a paid distro. Beware of anything with XP in the name.

Try PCLinuxOS it is a free distro.

If this is your first time using linux i would suggest that you get a more popular distro like redhat, so that when you run into problems it would be easier to find an answer or get a response. I guess XP and Blue screen go hand in hand like butter and toast :p

I would sugest Mandriva Linux it was the best one for me when I started, here is where you can download it from, and it is really free from install errors. http://www.mandriva.com/en/downloads/mirrors/2006iso This site will lead you to all of the mirrors, and have fun. This is an ISO download you will have to use a CD Burning software to burn your CD's or it wont work... like Roxio or Nero or something Windows just wont do it, of course that is just how windows is...

You should reinstall.

Thank You every one,
I loaded the PCLINUXOS and it starts then I get GRUB-
What do I do to correct this? It will not let me type and instructions to it?
Thanks Again,

in Jesus name,
Bob

It should be really simple, and you just hit any key on the keyboard and it will let you choose which OS to load, or at least that is how GRUB has worked for me in the past. Normaly windows is concidered Other, that is what it will be labeled on GRUB so arrow down to get to that, if you dont hit any keys it should load you right into linux unless you added a bootloader password.
