Blocking Workstion from Browsing


Hello LinuxGuru's,

Can someone help me where i can downlaod a manual for Blocking my users Mac Address under Linux 7.1 to prevent them from browsing. I really dont know where to start, what file to modify on our server.

what is linux 7.1?

anyway what u probably mean is a firewall..
do "man iptables" in console. Im not sure if u can block mac adresses. but ip adresses are sure possible..

You're looking for firewalling on Red Hat 7.1, that's using iptables, type "man iptables" or see the Iptables tutorial for more. Accepting/rejecting traffic by MAC address is possible with iptables. Examples for Iptables firewalls are at http://www.linuxguruz.org/iptables/, or search linuxdoc.org .
