Blank Screen During Shutdown

Hi, I'm a newbie running fedora 4 on an R50 Thinkpad, and my buddy down the hall has Fedora 2, and when he shuts linux down there is scrolling text for the processes that are being terminated before the computer shuts off/restarts, but on my installation it is a completly blank screen. What do i need to edit in order to see the text, I'm trying to troubleshoot a network adapter. Thanks

There is usually a function key like F5 that does the trick. I'm however not sure which to use exactly.
Doesn't your Fedora provide an option to view the details? My Fedora 3 does give me this option when booting,
so I suppose it's similar for shutdown.

Don't know about Fedora, but perhaps try shutting down at a black screen??
