Welcome to LQ.

Take a look at your XFree86 and /var/loca/mesages log files once you logoff and see if there are any error messages or clues.

As for installing Redhat 9 - it shouldnt be a problem if you have free unpartitioned space. Just install it and make sure you DON'T install the bootloader to the MBR. Then you can edit your existing bootloader config to boot Redhat 9 as well as XP and mandrake.

Hi David!
Surprisingly when I reinstalled MDK it started working corectly including logoff and torn off process. I didnīt understand why but thatīs it. The only thing I didnīt understand is how can I avoid Redhat bootloader to write on MBR. Mandrake has this option during install process but I didnīt notice that on Redhat.
Thank you very much for your help!(and sorry for eventual mistakes, but my english is very poor!).
