Just checking, but you do know that when you type the password, nothing will appear on screen? ie you type the password in and hit enter and if you have used the correct password you will be provided the prompt,
otherwise it will give you an error.

hmmm ... I am a little confused.

Nothing is showing where?

What next command line?

Although painful, you may need to type exactly what you see on screen here before you try to type anything at the command line so we can try and assist.

i must agree with the previous poster, you should try to describe your problem in clearer terms.

from what little i can see, i'd say this:

So to get it straight ...

1. You installed MintPPC

2. As part of the install you created a user called michael and assigned a password?

3. Install has completed and you have restarted the computer

4. After typing 'michael' at login prompt and hitting enter you then type the password for 'michael' and hit the enter key

5. You then press the 'm' key for some reason prior to the prompt returning to tell you the password you entered was incorrect

Do all the above steps sound correct? (if not, please advise)

After seeing the screenshots the best I can tell you is that you are not entering the correct password for 'michael'

So you have logged in successfully which is good. I would now probably suggest contacting the forums at MintPPC site as they would be best to help you with what may have gone wrong or what the next step
should be.

As for what to type at the command line ... you can use any linux command available, the usual of ls and cd would at least start to help you look around :)
