i got problem with my ibook 3g 500mhz,375 ram I just installed MintPPC 11,it went well no errors, but when rebooted then black screen and it ask for username no problem there. I downloaded the iso made burn with iso buster. but when it ask for password i could not type anything in there as same line us the password is. I tryed other reboots as well with the linux 1,same results,i can not put the passwords in.I installed twice. I searched the whole internet to solve this, could not find it. regards muller |
Just checking, but you do know that when you type the password, nothing will appear on screen? ie you type the password in and hit enter and if you have used the correct password you will be provided the prompt,
otherwise it will give you an error. |
no,nothing happen,i tried the keyboard all letters nothing is showing, when go to the next command line I can then type only a few letters then after this comes login incorrect and then starts again with login
thanks for helping regards muller |
hmmm ... I am a little confused.
Nothing is showing where? What next command line? Although painful, you may need to type exactly what you see on screen here before you try to type anything at the command line so we can try and assist. |
i must agree with the previous poster, you should try to describe your problem in clearer terms.
from what little i can see, i'd say this: http://askubuntu.com/questions/86660...stall-packages |
hi guys
http://www.mediafire.com/download/6q...69wm/linux.zip yes,i made 4 pictures here, then you will see whats going on there. you right there,it is trough now,i am stop with michael@wlan:~$,no idea whats the command for this is thanks regards muller |
So to get it straight ...
1. You installed MintPPC 2. As part of the install you created a user called michael and assigned a password? 3. Install has completed and you have restarted the computer 4. After typing 'michael' at login prompt and hitting enter you then type the password for 'michael' and hit the enter key 5. You then press the 'm' key for some reason prior to the prompt returning to tell you the password you entered was incorrect Do all the above steps sound correct? (if not, please advise) After seeing the screenshots the best I can tell you is that you are not entering the correct password for 'michael' |
hi
i did after this,i am logged in now with password as well, because i did not know ,with the password not showing in the line so now new command line ,michael@wlan:~$ "what i should type here" yes grail ,i did the above steps thanks regards muller |
hi
new pictures http://www.mediafire.com/download/6n...6/IMG_1368.zip then you see what i mean thanks regards muller |
So you have logged in successfully which is good. I would now probably suggest contacting the forums at MintPPC site as they would be best to help you with what may have gone wrong or what the next step
should be. As for what to type at the command line ... you can use any linux command available, the usual of ls and cd would at least start to help you look around :) |
thanks guys
starting to learn the command things ,all new stuff but is fun thanks regards muller |
