black screen when I start X

I am using a Toshiba Satellite 1405 with Mandrake 10 installed. The laptop is supposed to have an "S3 Super Savage" installed in it. When I start the X server, the background of all the windows is black. This means that I can access the menus and other windows, but most everything is black. Below is a copy of XFree86 config file I am using. I got it to work by simply uncommenting the no_accel line. However, without hardware acceleration, the graphical interface is slow to respond to windows being moved or created. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I searched for a while and found not much. Thanks.

From what I see everything seems to be good, but I am not an expert on the XF86Config file... I was just wondering if you had update the XFree86 to the lastest version.. Also you should look at this page to help you out: http://www.probo.com/timr/savage40.html
