Black Screen after installing RedHat Enterprise Server

Hi,

I'am new to Linux
i`ve installed Redhat 20 minutes ago

After i choose the OS in Grub, Redhat is booting, but after it initialized several services and switches to the xserver, the screen stays black.

I think it could be my Nvidia 8800 GTS... what do you think ? Is there a possibility to get in the CLI Interface (ctrl, alt f1-f6) to install a new driver or something like that ? When the screen is black nothing works...

Thanks

If you can't kill x-server with ctrl-alt-backspace, try to boot in single-mode and check /var/log/Xorg.0.log file for errors.

At the grub menu, hit escape, then edit the kernel line with "single" at the end to boot into single user mode.

You should be able to install nvidia drivers then, but why do you want a gui on a server anyway?
