Black&White
 

I installed Black and White, and it seemed to install just fine on Ubuntu 10.04.

I setup the preferences I wanted, game setup, then ran the game.

A window opens up, and is black, then closes, no error message no idea why. I Have seen Youtube Videos of this game working on Ubuntu but I don't know why.

It's running through wine, anybody know anything. I have only been using Ubuntu about 2 days now....

[Update] Patched through all versions of the game, and still same result.

It seems to work with Cedega - a commercial version of Wine that you have to pay for. http://www.cedega.com/gamesdb/games/...l?game_id=2317

Black and White works but Black and White 2 does not.

I know nothing about that game, but when using wine, you should try from command line, that way you can see if there's any error or some info no the screen.

Besides that, you should also check the appdb at winehq.org, probably someone has already tried to run it and with some luck you will find some info on how to make it work.

Double check also that your graphics setup is adequate and that opengl and DRI are working properly.
