bittorrent help!

hello all!
i'm currently trying to install bit torrent on fedora core 2.
i already have all the necessary files and even already installed bit torrent on my machine thru "yum".

but the thing that bothers me is when i click a .torrent file on suprnova it doesnt do anything.
it just brings out a huge list of symbols and so on.

plus i already did the "helper application" in mozilla which makes mozilla recognize the torrent files with bit torrent.

am i doing something wrong?

oh and i already added the line to mailcap.

if someone really knows how to do this, please walk me thru again because maybe i missed something.

thanks ppl!

For bit torrents I've tried various different clients, and Azureus is by far the best I've found. Unfortunately it needs java 1.4 or better and so used to be a bit slow, but the latest version is quite fast. It can be made to scan a directory periodically for new torrents, so there is no need for "helper apps", just always save new torrents to the same place. I can't recommend it enough.

The junk you get after clicking on a .torrent is the browser showing you the data inside the torrent file. You need to right-click on the file link and select "Save Link to Disc...", because the browser is not recognising that you want to download the file, not look at it. With a bit of digging you should be able to configure the browser to do this automatically.

I use BitTorrent programed in Python. I just copy the link and open up a terminal. Then run BitTorrent with the url. You can do the same with Mozilla. Just check your favorite terminal if it can run with an external program. If you want a graphical presentation of how BitTorrent is downloading your file, use the program that oldyas listed.

I'm somewhat new to BitTorrent, apart from suprnova.org, what are some other sites which offer torrents?
