bit torrent


okay i have been trying to get help with installing bit torrent downloads well i downloaded a new version of W.I.N.E. and i installed bit tornado and it said it was sucsfuly installed but when i try to download a torrent it doesnt do anything. i think the bit torrnad is no picking it up it saves to my desktop and shows the file with a whie paper icon and when i open it it brings up the open with window but i dont know what to choose please help i am running suse 8.1

anything running under WINE can be a bit precarious.

I suggest using AZUREUS

It will run natively on linux as long as you have JRE (Java Run Time Environment) installed.

for the torrent you are just choosing where to save the file



it can be slow depending on the number of seeds

to install jre download it from java's website

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp


click on the third option (download jre)

then download your file

Azureus is a great app but its up tons of ram ....
If you don't care for fancy graphics just try ctorrent a cli client for the bittorrent network
