Billiards or Pool games suitable for Ubuntu 8.10 - 64 bit

Farslayer

I am pleased to advise that eventually my supplier got back to me regarding the clarification of my graphics setup. They were able to load and play foobillard OK and were of the opinion that billard-gl as a Ubuntu package may be corrupted.

I reloaded foobillard only to find that despite their assurances that I still struggled with the game. I was now able to open the window menu but was unable to find the manual never mind RTFM. After another phone call to the supplier I was initiated into the mysteries of man foobillard. This helped a lot and I suppose that once I read and digest what is there everything should work.

I have come to the conclusion that it might be easier to get into one or other of the various secret societes that to RTFM when there is no indication where it is hidden.

Please accept my sincere thanks to you and all the others who assisted in getting me to where I can eventually play the game and also understand a little more of the Linux misteries.

Hopefully your progress will continue to a happy conclusion..

man is always a great place to look when you are trying to find documentation in Linux.

I also found info on foobillard here:
zcat /usr/share/doc/foobillard/README.gz

I used the Debian package search on the internet to view the files that are in the foobillard package.
http://packages.debian.org/lenny/i38...llard/filelist
that is how I found that readme file for foobillard.

Best of luck !!
