im new to linux in general but im pretty sure this is more than just a n00b problem....


i just burnt knoppix and its friggin awsome! but...
i cannot get root access...
it wont let me change ANY passwords... it alwayz asks for (current) UNIX password: for any password i try to change and from what i read its not even supposed to have ANY passwords set!?!?!
im in the Konsole and like im supposed to i type passwd knoppix *enter*
and then im stuck there trying to guess the stupid password....
can someone plz help me lol
has anyone else had this problem b4??

You just type:
CTRL ALT F2
passwd
And enter the new password. Enter after each of those lines..

im dynamic and my friendz just got me into linux and i couldnt be happier!
just by the way they talk and what ive seen 4 myself i can clearly see that this is a superior OS and im really dissapointed that its not supported by more games and stuff!
i mean come on now! what version of windows has ever enabled you to run a whole OS on nothing but a CD!!! and on top of that... RUNING A FTP SERVER OFF OF THAT CD!!! and i cant beleave how easy it was to set it up!!
