best wifi card

I'm looking to get a new wifi card for my laptop that I run some live linux distros on like backtrack, puppy, ect. Most of these come with a lot of wifi drivers on them. Is there a certain model that most live dvds would already support? The one I have now is terrible as the chipset is locked and no one can get a driver working. Would something like a linksys wpc54g-wb be pretty common? thanks.

I assume you want pcmcia since mention backtrack. The two off the top of my head are netgear wg511t and linksys wpc55ag version 1.2. Both are Atheros chipset based nics. See what you can find and search the HCL section here on the forum site. Or search google for more info.
