Best Linux version that will run all my applications
My security software is ESET Nod 32. I believe the application will work on the following Linux versions: Suse, Fedora, Ubuntu, Mandriva, Debian, and Red Hat. I use Microsoft Office; Open Office should be OK for Word and Excel, but I also need a database (to replace Microsoft Access) that will work on Linux. Finally, I also use Maplesoft 2015 and want a version where I can run it too. Any suggestions on what version to pursue that will work with these various applications would be welcomed.
I don't know if Maplesoft is supported by any linux, but anyway it looks like all the modern distros can work for you [the same way]. So you can choose your preferred one.

I am unfamiliar with "ESET nod".
Libreoffice includes spreadsheet, word processor, and database applications. If you need something much better than Access there are other free dataases availble ( Postgresql, for example).
Maplesoft 2019 will run on most versions of Linux, but I am unsure how you would get 2015 installed and properly licensed on ANYTHING. Why the old version?
This issue resolved, thank you everyone for your help. I read the book LINUX Installation, Configuration & Command Line Basics and believe I can use the operating system. The crux of my problem is application software that will perform XIRR (extended internal rate of return), provide ways to input monthly statements from my brokerage account, and have the capability of transferring a wealth of investment data from MS access to the new app.
Unless you want to suggest financial and investment software, consider this issue resolved. Thanks again, Les
