Best flavour for a simple ftp server

Hello all

I want to use an old computer i have lying about to store some files on over my home network.
I was thinking of loading linux, putting some ftp software on it and just leaving it in the corner

I was wondering what version of linux you guys(and gals) would recommend. I just want something very light and simple. i have no previous linux experience so keep it easy

Comp is an Pentium 1, 256 ram, pretty basic on the whole.

So what do you recommend

Mike

Every distribution can accomidate you. The problem is http://distrowatch.com/ that there are so many.

Honestly, your will be anle to do what you want with any distro. Just browse around the top 10 distro's on the right of that http and see what you like best. It's all free, so who gives a crap. Try one.

As for FTP software, I think proftpd is the easiest to get up and running.

Yep, I agree with bulliver. It's also integrated by default into most distro's.
