Thumbs up Best firewall and backup tools


i'd like to know the best firewall and backup tools for linux. Does anyone know ? thanx in advance

For a firewall i would recommend Guarddog or Firestarter, both comes with a GUI.

For backups, check out this link to CDTAR

Try this for backup: http://www.amanda.org/ or maybe roll your own with rsync.

i cannot believe writing CD's or DVD's is a safe, good backup-solution. Yes, it's a solution, but not a good one. You better write your backup to a tape or a second harddisk over network or something like that..
