Best Distro For Acer emachines E625?

Complete newbie to Linux but enjoying the experience so far. Running Zorin os 5 for over a week now and all seems fine. Tried Linux Mint 11 before that and was equally impressed. I guess being so used to windows I find these two distros just great!

Any comments will be much appreciated

Regards,
Kevin

Hi, and welcome;

My comment : stick with whatever you feel comfortable with :)

I stick with Gentoo and Chakra. I don't recommend either for beginners (well, maybe Chakra, but you must not be afraid to get your hands dirty at some point). To complete newcommers I recommend starting with Fedora. But that's just my choice...

Check out Distrowatch for more choices.

BTW : did not know about Zorin OS, will check it out, thanks.

Simply as that: The best distro for you and that machine will be the one that has an acceptable performance and fits your needs. Only you can decide what is acceptable to you and what fits your needs, so try a few distros and look what you like.

Thank You For the Feedback!!!

Thank you for such a fast response. Much appreciated!

I am in the process of reading review after review .....site after site... about the various Linux distros available. I'm learning alot and enjoying my Linux experience.

Thank You

I appreciate your response Serafean.

A bit of useless information.... I always smile when I read about Gentoo because here in South Africa in the region of the Western Cape where I live, that is the term for a street prostitute!

Kevin
