Best distro for a acer centrino laptop

I´ve recently install mandrake 10.1 on my acer travelmate 4001LMI machine and its been giving me sleepless nites...

i´ve managed to solve several issues by googling around, but i´m close to giving up trying to get my wireless to work.... tried the acerhk, ipw2200 etc, but i always have this problem that certain packages such as the kernal source 2.6.8.1-12mdk are missing etc.. went ard downloading and installing them, then thereś always something else missing... i getting really frustrating and starting to think it might be a mandrake problem? cos i was browsing some other sites and they were saying mandrake have an issue wif wi-fi and that fedora is better suited for centrino based laptops... how true is tat? wat is the best distro for a centrino based laptops, wif the least hassle in setting up the wireless network? pls advise...

Try Mandriva 2005LE or 2006. Another good option would be Suse 10.

Fedora is pretty decent, no idea if it'll fix your problem as have never had those problems but i like using it

But if you don't like one distro, try another, and another, till you find the one you want

try ubuntu. it's debian based, so apt-get takes care of all the problems :)

I have ubuntu running peacefully on my Acer Tm 2312.

Ndiswrapper is a good solution to incompatible wireless cards.
I have used on realtek8180 wirelesscard.

Its very simple to use
