Best Book for Linux Newbie

I'm a complete newbie to Linux and am interesting in knowing what book is good to start with. I have a lot of experience in computers, just not Linux. Would this be something more specific to the distribution I use? I am considering SUSE but am looking at other distributions as well.

suse is a decent first distro...very user friendly. it's the distro that got me started. as for books, there are many...anything by o'reilly is a great read...there is also tons of info on the internet....i'd suggest taking a look at rute...a great tutorial which addresses the package managment of suse, that being rpms....it got me started, and LQ here answered most of my questions once i was up and running....

I've heard good things about Point & Click Linux! by Robin Miller. The only thing I could say that might detract you from it, is that the version of MEPIS that it comes with is now 'old'. I'm sure it would still be fine to use for learning purposes if that's all you're interested in. You could probably also buy the book, and then download the newest MEPIS release if you wanted.
