When I set the windows manager to beryl my background disappears and instead of the normal 4 desktops it forces me to only have 2 or less. Also about 4 out of 5 times starting or unminimizing a window it brings up only a black window. All the tools bars and frame show up correctly just not the content. All the effects work perfectly and my nvidia are up to date. So does anyone else seem to be having this problem?

I have problems with Beryl (on arch linux though) in that if i start it from a session, i get decent borders/effects but not as many of the desktop transition effects (only left-right, no cube). However if i start beryl-manager i lose the borders, and get some rendering problems (rarely) but gain the mentioned cube like.

Beryl to me seems fairly unstable (although it's working alot better than XGL/Compiz).

One thing that seemed to help me was using the nvidia-xconfig to configure my xorg.conf

After some playing with it and reloading of drivers i've got everything working now expect the backgroud. It changes the background black is there a setting or something I'm missing to change it?

Edit never mind it seemed to be working right now its back to opening just black applications argh
