bell in a shell.

running KDE.

sometimes on the panel there is message me like:

Bell signal in "Shell"

what it means.I am running a shell what it tells.

This is a visual display of what is normally an audio cue. The "bell" referred to is one typical of a program indicating that an error has occured or you have given invalid input.

IIRC (it's been a long time since I've run KDE) when you're running Konsole, you can click on the icon for a tab and get a drop down list. Some of the items on this list are things like "notify on <foo>", and if you activate these, the icon will turn into a bell when certain events happen. I don't specifically remember the panel message, but that's probably the same thing.

I hope this helps, but please take it as a pointer to a possible cause rather than a definitive answer!
