Belkin SOHO KVM, Linux and the mouse (problem and solution)
I bought some time ago a nice Belkin KVM SOHO 4 ports, and tried to use it with two boxes, one Windows and another Linux. There isn't any problem, except that when I switch from Linux to Windows and back to Linux, the mouse became crazy as soon as you move it, and clicks, right-clicks, wheel-clicks and moves erratically.
I tried all the things I found on the Internet, like using the PS/2, RAW, BARE settings in X configuration instead of IMPS/2 (IntelliMouse PS2), but nothing works. I also tried to power up my KVM, but without any result. I end up buying a (cheaper) KVM from a mostly unknown brand, and all the things get solved. So, I suspect the SOHO KVM from Belkin is not fully compatible with the use of Linux or the other way around. I hope this post will help, Fred. |
I used to have problems with some kvm's and keyboards with older linux distros... I could switch from linux to winders no problem.. but winders to linux I lost the keyboard :(
