belkin router mandrake problems
 

hi-

i've recently made the move over to linux (well half a move at the moment, after getting p*ssed off with virii, spyware, badly thought out design etc.()

however i cant get onto the net though my router at present i have a belkin router and i've attempted to config it using the automatic mandrake internet config utility but to no avail. i'm running mandrake 9.2.

is there a way that i can specify the IP address that mandrake uses to connect to the net?

is the nic up and functioning? issue

ifconfig -a

and

route -n

post the results. are you using dhcp from the router? are there any firewalls involved? what type of connection to the net does the router have, cable modem, etc.?
