Post beginner in Linux Device Driver


Dear friends,

I am interested in Linux device driver. I want to know which types of drivers / modules can I develop @ beginner level.

Please give some ideas for developing drivers @ beginner level.

Thanks for reply.

Yes, I have a book "Linux Device Driver" 3rd edition By RUBINI. I read 'Char Drivers' and 'Advanced Char Driver Operations' chapters and also others chapters too.

which type of drivers I develop ? Any ideas ?

The normal approach is to identify a problem that requires a solution, not the other way around.

Exactly. You may want to look around for people who are having problems finding a specific driver; they would be grateful if you could help them out. Of course, you could also get some practise by trying to build your own version of a linux driver that already exists.
