begining linux for oracle

hi

I am learning oracle dba. For that i want to learn Linux too. I am a total newbie.I request for your guidance.
While installing Oracle 9i or 10g i have to set some parameters in REDHAT LINUX AS 4.0 os.I didnt get a word of what is actually happening or why i am giving those commands.

Kindly tell me some good books or better free e-books link for linux for beginners as suitable for me.

Thanks..

I'd suggest http://www.puschitz.com/ for installing Oracle on Linux. For general Linux stuff, have a look through the sites linked here at the LQ wiki.

And if you get stuck, ask lots of questions here...
