I have no ideas.
Just not used to forums. Last forum I was using was back in 2006.

I usually just use search only.

Sometimes I am lucky, and I follow your links to clear my understanding of what ever is happening
Lately it’s the bios - stuff. Just trying now to understand
The not so easy steps to run Linux.

Again, thanks for all the links.

The monitor only displays what is sent to it. The op maybe referring to video adapter driver instead of monitor driver.

Thank you Color purple, that’s exactly the situation. I’ve just been busy these
Last 10 years.
The nomenclature has been missing in many brain cells.
I have the CRS syndrome. Old age.

Thanks so much.
H.

Thanks for man find

And the solid state drives, that’s nice. Only have two systems with SSD.

Yep, and the weather is, and will always suck in the Midwest this time of the year.

Jamison. I’m south of Chicago. Way south in the soybean, and cornfields.

Hmm. Doing some searches for other things, I see a contributing factor. Currently, in search engines the strings linuxquestions.org and linuxquestions return only hits for the infamous microsoft-oriented, censored by anti-FOSS trolls, orange site. Nothing is returned for LQ unless site: is prepended, as in site:linuxquestions.org. So the moderators or Jeremy himself might need to contact the search engine companies about that.

Hi Louvre.
For your defense.
I do have a few Samsung monitors that come with driver disc.
I just ignore them, install the GPU drivers. That's for Windows only.

As for Linux I use MX and antiX - and never have a driver problem.
Yes, I am also a {forever,old} newbie.

I can't replicate this - every combination of the search terms in DuckDuckGo or Google comes back with this site.
