Basic system maintenance.

What are the commands to run disk checks an so forth in Mandrake 10.0 Community? Also what are the best anti virus, and Firewall software for it? Please recommend those that are easy to install. Thanks.

The disk checking commands are distribution independent. Some useful commands are:
fdisk -l
fsck
badblocks

These are powerful commands so before you do anything read:
man fs
man fdisk
man fsck
man badblocks
