Basic Samba Problem in Ubuntu Server 12

I'm simply trying to access a samba share from my windows 7 machine. When I go to access it using username 'sam' (which is the same username as the windows machine) the dialog box asks for the password again. If I try the username bob it complains saying "... is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user ... are not allowed." I only have this share, shared from samba, not from right clicking the folder and clicking on 'share folder'. I didn't do this becuase I thought nautilus sharing might interfere with it and I want to have it password protected. When I set samba to allow anyone access it works. Weird thing is on the windows machine on the password dialog box before I even type my password in it says down the bottom 'Access is Denied'.

The share is located at

Code:
/home/bob/Test
The output of the samba config file:

Code:
[Test]
	path = /home/bob/Test
	writeable = yes
	browseable = yes
	valid users = bob, sam
Folder permissions:
Code:
drwxrwxr-x  2 bob  bob   4096 Jun 16 01:18 Test/
I hope that makes sense. I am very new to this btw.

I found a partial solution. If I type just the ip address then the share name, the username and password lets me access the share. I found this resource from microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938120. The second sugested option is to change the server name, I'm not sure how to do that nor why that would be causing a problem in the first place. I hate to be pedantic but I really would like to access the share from the server name.

Did you add the user to the smbpasswd file? Check this quick guide.
