Basic command all should know.

I was wondering if any peoples out there could lay out the basics.
As far as commands in a terminal.
I apologize if I am vague, but I'm quite new to this and just don't know what I'm talking about. HA

Thanks!!!

Welcome to LQ.

First read "Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide" from Machtelt Garrels then "GNU/Linux Command-Line Tools Summary" from Gareth Anderson.

Both guides are available on line and in several formats here.

Also, you can check out the links in my sig. These are sites I found quite useful. If you scout around LQ, you'll find plenty other members with helpful links in their sigs, as well.

Cheers

By they way, you can also type: man [command] or info [command] in terminal / konsole. However, this sometimes is not working since man and info is not installed.

Linux is nothing if not diverse.

Everyone has their favorites; here's mine.
