Basic 256 starts up but after entering a few characters like print "hello" it stops responding. I have tried it on 3 machines, two running Ubuntu 10.04 and one 10.10. All have the same problem.
read this thread right here get back with me on it. I went here down loaded it compiled it in Slackware then in that terminal I typed ./BASIC256 . this way I run it from the folder I built it in. the UBUNTU has some issues
Hello Drakeo
Thank you for your help, but I have found another way around the problem. I un-installed Basic 256 from Ubuntu, then dusted off one of my Sinclair ZX81s which boots in 1 second (I am not a patient person) and has a syntax checker that spots typos. I am a sloppy typist. Guess someone much smarter than me will fix Basic 256 sometime. Many thanks Geoff1234
