.bash_history question

It seems that the user's commands aren't being logged into bash_history because they are using /bin/bash. When I switch the user accounts to /bin/sh the commands are logged in bash_history. Is there something wrong here?

Thanks

Are you sure it isn't saved? Do you get any output from the command: history ?
