Htp: I apologize, I could not find where the "Tutorial" is actually located: I was using "LQ" and "L-mint.com".
Three items -- two concern the actual "Tutorial" script instructions, one concerns an error message I receive when "sudo" . . .
1. bash tutorial re: escape meta characters script
Echo $BASH_VAR
BASH_VAR WHILE EXPECTING $BASH_VAR
ADJUSTED TO –
Echo “\$BASH_VAR”
This made up the difference giving proper response. (Not sure if this s/b reported as BUG)

2. I/O REDIRECT SECTION -- EXECUTABLE APPLIED TO /etc/shadow example gave PERM DENIED
HOWEVER,
My execution printed out the file, albeit, what language – unknown; but the seven plus reserve and all the numbers were recognized . . .
Does that mean I somehow finally obtained “SU” status?

3. All previous attempts to use “sudo” [have not tried since previous occurrence] returns an “unable to resolve host ‘roman’ error”; although, it accepts my username and password.

there is no "one" tutorial for bash scripting.

But, it does not solve the question of "error" for the next newbie trying to do and understand "bash scripting" and not getting proper results; therefore, I hope I can find the source of the other "Tutorial".
