Smile Bash script for sorting out FSTAB & mount points ?

One of the most difficult problem I have with Linux is every
time I add or remove a drive create a new partition, or
install a newer installation of Linux on a new partition or drive,
is that It takes me a long time to be able to boot
up normally. So many times I am staring at "cannot find boot partition", no operating system found, Boot loader Grub error etc....

Is there a list of useful Bash script for sorting out FSTAB, grub & mount points ?

With all of the increasingly advanced features of Linux,
why has no one come up with an idiot proof method?

A Text based YAST would do the job, or a GUI program
within GParted would be even better.

Thanks

Mark
